The founder

Born into a farming family, Benoit Béchet set his sights on a career in agronomy at a very young age. Originally from the Lorraine region, he moved to Paris to continue his studies at Henri IV. Every week, he traveled by train across the Lorraine plateau and then the chalky Champagne region, a magical land that is now home to a wide variety of crops. It was during these trips that he admired the hillsides of Champagne.

“As I passed through Épernay, I saw Hautvillers. I was immersed in an ocean of vines. These lands nourished my gaze, my thoughts, and generated a sweet daydream. Even at the age of twenty, I hoped to one day take action by producing and developing my own Champagne.”

After studying at Agro Rennes and AgroParisTech, he created his own company. He specializes in market research on the agricultural and wine sectors in France and abroad. At the same time, he acquired 100 hectares of land in chalky Champagne.

“I was thirty years old, my life was taking shape more and more clearly. I was sharing this dream with my wife : to produce our own wine. We were hoping that our turn would come.”

In 2017, he visited a plot of vines in Hautvillers which finally convinced him. The area probably weighed in the balance: the monk Dom Pérignon who undoubtedly walked through these vines not far from his abbey, the splendid view of the Marne valley… It was at over forty years old that he embarked on the adventure of Champagne.

Quickly, the estate expanded with vines in Verzenay first, then in Blanc Côteaux. This was neither an outcome nor an end: it was the beginning of an adventure.

"Selecting each bunch with care, pressing the grapes, extracting the best aromas for our Champagne: this is the heart of our business. Above all, we want to pass on our passion and love of wine to allow you to experience joyful moments with family and friends."
